Local Laws 92 and 94 | Oct 2019
These laws require the installation of solar panels and/or green roofs on all new residential and commercial buildings, as well as existing buildings that undergo major roof renovations. The NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability has summarized the laws in a one-page fact sheet and provided answers to frequently asked questions.
The NYC Department of Buildings has issued a bulletin dated October 24, 2019 clarifying the green roof and solar requirements.
