Review Time Down for All NYC Solar Apps

Professional Certification, commonly known as 'Pro-Cert', was enacted January 1, 2016 in NYC and now accounts for over 90% of the PV applications submitted to the NYC Department of Buildings through their Development Hub. Just as important for the growth of solar, Pro-Cert has freed up DOB reviewers to address the solar applications filed through Full Service in a much more expedient manner. In August of 2015 it took an average of 24.1 days to receive a review of a project filed through Full Service. Now, 5 months after Pro-Cert, it is taking an average of only 1.2 days to review a solar application. The speed for DOB to review solar jobs is critical as the number of applications continues to rise. As of mid-May of this year, 1081 solar applications have already been filed, 983 of them are solar PTA jobs filed as Pro-Cert through the hub.
