On April 21, 2023, NYCHA issued a solicitation for the installation of approximately 10 MW of community solar on more than 300 buildings across 21 separate NYCHA developments. The final proposal deadline is July 6, 2023. The buildings are divided into six bundles, each ranging in potential capacity from 1.3 MW to 2.7 MW. Project developers may submit proposals for any number of bundles. On May 16th Sustainable CUNY and NYCHA hosted a webinar that featured a detailed discussion of the solicitation and offer an opportunity for attendees to submit questions to NYCHA. This first in a series of virtual workshops will provide a basic primer on energy storage for the solar industry, including different storage technologies and considerations for projects.
