Model Solar Zoning Guide Published

A NYS Model Solar Energy Law (Model Law) has been completed and is designed to assist communities in New York State in adopting zoning provisions that promote solar energy systems while protecting community character and the environment. The Model Law and Tool Kit was developed by Sustainable CUNY of the City University of New York (CUNY) as a U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative project with support by Pace Law School's Land Use Law Center and the NYSolar Smart Planning and Zoning Working Group: City of Albany, Town of Clifton Park, Town of Hempstead, City of Ithaca, City of Poughkeepsie, City of Rochester, City of Schenectady, Town of Southampton, City of Syracuse, Village of Warwick, and City of While Plains.
