200+ NYCHA Sites Slated for Shared Solar

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)  has posted a list and  interactive map of more than 200 sites across the city that it will be making available for solar development under its Public Purpose Shared Solar (PPSS) program. PPSS is part of a NYCHA Solar Initiative, supported by Sustainable CUNY, to install 25 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2025.

Under PPSS, smaller rooftops are made available at low or no cost to community-based organizations and non-profits teaming up with solar developers to install community shared solar systems that will serve low-to-moderate income households and provide green jobs for . NYCHA residents. Applicants will be able to submit an application online starting in early 2018.
